The eCore Director will work with the UNC Lineberger Cancer Outcomes Research Program’s Director to develop, oversee, and maintain a shared research resource to support cancer patient outcomes research at the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. eCore and its staff will provide the UNC cancer outcomes research community with a portfolio of electronic research platforms, including software and hardware. These platforms will provide portals and tools to collect, store, manage, and analyze patient-reported outcomes data, as well as support educational applications, and shared decision aids. The eCore Director, working with the Program Director, faculty, and other key leaders will oversee the development and operation of this research resource, He she will interact with investigators to customize research platforms for individual projects. He she will also coordinate with institutional and federal security and privacy personnel to assure appropriate standards and configurations to protect these sensitive research data.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred in computer science or related field with equivalent knowledge, skill and certification.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum experience: 5 years or equivalent working knowledge and skill as developer programmer, database programmer, and or web developer with specific experience in clinical biomedical research data management and rapid software development. Strong organization and communication skills, ability to work autonomously as well as in teams, independent learner. Expert ability using Microsoft 70-431 ( SQL server), Microsoft 70-315 ( ASP . NET C ), Microsoft 70-320 (web Services), Microsoft 70-300 (Architecture), or equivalents.
