UNCPN is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse for our physician practice located in Cary. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: -Demonstrates competence in basic patient care skills including obtaining vital signs and specimens, assisting with exams and minor procedures, and other duties as directed by the physician. Appropriately documents care provided in the patient's medical record. -Assists with maintenance of adequate supplies, stocks and cleans exam rooms.-Maintains compliance with established safety and regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA, OSHA, and infection prevention policies and procedures. -Demonstrates good customer service skills when interacting with patients, families, and visitors. Exhibits effective communication skills and team work.
UNC Physicians Network (UNCPN) is a not-for-profit, joint effort between the University of North Carolina Health Care System and Rex Healthcare. UNCPN is a regional network of more than 34 practices and over 150 providers who deliver a full range of primary care and specialty services to communities in eight counties throughout North Carolina.

Job Qualifications:

Experience Recent Medical Office experience preferred. Education Graduate of an accredited LPN school with current non-restricted license.

Provides basic therapeutic nursing care according to established standards of practice under the direction and supervision of the Providers.. Provides care to those patients whose care requirements are routine and standardized with predictable outcomes. Assists Providers and healthcare team to achieve desired patient outcomes.Provides direct patient care utilizing the nursing process under the direction and supervision of the Providers. Reviews diagnostic test results and reports abnormal results and changes in patient condition to the physician and appropriate healthcare team members in a timely manner. Collaborates with the Providers on the execution of the patient’s plan of care. Administers prescribed medications, therapies and treatments in accordance with practical nursing standards. Maintains and reviews patient medical records, notes and physician orders: documents all patient care activities in accordance with documentation standards. Assists physicians, and health care team members with data collection, assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of patient and families’ care to achieve desired outcomes. Implements components of the plan of care within the LPN scope of practice and competency to promote desired outcomes. Assists with discharge planning and carrying out the patient’s teaching plan under the direction of the Providers. Evaluates and maintains the environment to promote patient and healthcare team safety. Collaborates with the Providers and healthcare team to advocate for the patient and supports the patient's psychological, ethical, spiritual and cultural needs. Provides compassionate basic nursing care: maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.Effectively communicates with health care team members, patients and families: supports healthcare team members to achieve team goals. Assigns appropriate tasks to care assistants. Seeks out healthcare team members to serve as a resource to increase practice knowledge. Keeps informed of unit initiatives, supports the outcomes of the team/ committees' work into practice. Participates on unit teams, work groups and/ or committees. Demonstrates willingness to give 100% and voluntarily assists others. Works with the team to achieve maximum productivity.Demonstrates knowledge of unit based quality improvement initiatives. Participates in performance improvement initiatives. Assumes responsibility for self-development in life-long learning. Maintains competencies within practical nursing standards and seeks opportunities to develop professionally.Identifies own learning needs based on self-evaluation and the progress made from the previous year's goals. Assists with the orientation of new employees under the supervision of the RN. Seeks opportunities to further increase practice knowledge. Maintains own Employee continuing Education Record and outlined core and specialty competencies relevant to area of practiceQuality - Collaborate with others and offer suggestions to improve quality of care and/or service; Extend everyone your best efforts and compassion; Share ideas and feedback in a positive, professional manner; Be on time, deliver service consistently.
