To perform an extensive number of data collection functions as delegated by the physician to allow for proper professional diagnosis of patients' conditions. Obtain patient history. Performs accurate and consistent documentation and measurement tasks such as: visual acuity, manual lensometry, etc.

Some travel to Muskogee clinic.

Position will be located at Tulsa office, but will need to travel to Muskogee office on occassion.

Education and Experience


Field of Study:

OSU/Health Sciences


High School/GED

Certifications, Registrations, or Licenses

CPR certification

Valid OK Driver License

Skills, Proficiencies and Knowledge

1.Demonstrated, advanced comprehension of the ophthalmic assistant skills as outlined by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) as well as a basic understanding of optics and the ability to perform refractometry.

2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

3. Personable and empathetic with patient's needs and concerns.

4. Well-organized with attention to detail.

5. Ability to work as a team member.

6. Demonstrated comprehension of the principles of optics, refraction, and contact lenses.

7. Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive work ups on three patients per hour.

8. Demonstrated computer literacy.


Field of Study:

Some college preferred

Two to five years experience as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant
