Job Description:
TK Holdings Inc./TK-ESS (Takata) is looking for a Test
Engineer for our Pontiac, Michigan office. We are the
electronics division of Takata, a $4 Billion Tier 1 and
2 automotive supplier of safety equipment. Takata is an
industry leader in seat belts, air bags, steering
wheels, interior components, and crash detection and
avoidance electronics.
Summary Plan, develop, and conduct tests on electronic
components, products, and systems by performing the

following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ø Development of NI LabVIEW graphical programming based
software for the testing of electronic systems.
Ø Analyze the customer specification, legal
requirements, and Takata internal specifications towards
the development of electronic test plans.
Ø Create pre-Design Verification (DV), Design
Verification, and Process Validation (PV) test plans.
Ø Create test equipment specifications and tester
hardware specifications used in the development of
automated test rack systems.
Ø Design and coordinate the building of electronic load
boxes for product development and testing.
Ø Define and coordinate the building of electronic test
equipment using both inside company resources and
managing outside suppliers.
Ø Execute Design Verification testing working with lab
Ø Analyze and interpret test data results from
verification and validation testing and prepare
technical reports for use by the engineering and
management personnel.
Ø Generate Design Verification Reports in the desired
customer format.
Ø Work with the Software Validation team to ensure
complete test coverage of all requirements.
Ø Work with the EMC engineers toward the development of
EMC test plans. Assist with the tools required for EMC
testing including load boxes, communication tools, and
test monitoring programs.
Ø Help to coordinate EMC Testing for Developmental, DV
and PV Testing.
Ø Follow internal procedures to ensure cross functional
and peer reviews of product test plans.
Ø Co-develop the End-Of-Line (E.O.L) specification with
manufacturing engineers to ensure the necessary testing
during production of the products.
Ø Support product technical design reviews.
Ø Support design teams with DFMEA development.
Ø Present test results to customers (in coordination
with Product Management).
Ø Provide technical information and documentation to
others in a clear, precise, timely manner (Test
Reports/Test Data/Test Results).
Ø Use quantitative measures/indicators in analyzing
problems, developing recommendations and making
Ø Accurately identify the most significant
data/variances (e.g., “bad data”; high impact data).
Ø Utilizes an issue documentation system in an efficient
manor to communicate test failures to the product team
Other Skills and Abilities
Ø Ability to use bench-top electronic test equipment
including data acquisition systems, oscilloscopes, power
supplies, etc.
Ø Experience with the integration of data acquisition
hardware and software into personal computers.
Ø Knowledge of automotive safety systems is preferred.
Ø Ability to use NI Diadem software for managing,
analyzing, and reporting data collected during data

Job Requirements:
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering, Masters
degree is preferred.
Additionally 4-6 years related experience and/or
training; or equivalent combination of education and
