The Career Services Specialist will work with employers and business members to develop and cultivate relationships for the primary purpose of securing and tracking employment opportunities for students, alumni, and community members.
DUTIES OF POSITION:

* 1. Develop and cultivate employer relationships by conducting outreach to employers both in person and electronically to learn of their hiring needs.
*2. Secure employment opportunities for placement of students and graduates by growing employer networks to continuously contact employers with openings.
*3. Track employment outcomes by maintaining records of student and graduate employment placements.
*4. Meet with students, alumni, and DuPage county community members to assist with the creation and review of professional development materials.
*5. Partner with academic programs to conduct workshops and classroom presentations on a variety of professional development topics.
6. Assist with all departmental events and programs.
7. Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Career Services.

Bachelors degree in career counseling, education, human resources, business administration, or a related field.
Masters degree. Recruiting experience a plus.
Prior experience working with students of all ages and must be able to demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective, professional relationships with employers and the professional community.
Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of counseling and career development skills.
EQUIPMENT AND/OR MACHINES USED:
Computer, printer, multi-line telephone, fax machine, copier, calculator, projector, MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SARS, CCN, MyAccess, Datatel and the Internet.
Normal office environment with significant walk-in and telephone traffic. Frequent contact with employers and graduates that may require travel (car) and occasional evening and weekend hours.
