The primary role of the Desktop Support Specialist is to support all aspects of the call center operation as it pertains to information technology. The Desktop Support Specialist is a key member of the corporate IT operations staff with responsibility for the proper functioning of all IT components including the company’s call center operation. This person has primary responsibility for all desktop configurations, help desk support, LAN, and PBX support. Additionally they will be well versed in all operational processes and procedures and assist in improvements as necessary or requested.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
This is a technical and hands on position that requires excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows systems administration as well as network administration with some knowledge of LINUX administration. This person is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the company's corporate system environments, including hardware installation and maintenance; installing, upgrading, and supporting software; installing and maintaining network infrastructure; maintaining network security; monitoring and tuning of system resources; selecting and acquiring hardware and software; helpdesk support; maintaining all backup and archive procedures. Proactive attention to the system and network infrastructure, Occasional 24x7 on call availability to quickly respond to IT issues as they arise, Maintaining and enhancing the corporate system infrastructure.
MINIMUM / REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong experience with Active Directory and LDAP in large-scale production deployments is important.
Performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning skills are very important. A positive attitude and excellent customer service skills.
A minimum of 3-5 Years of Windows System Administration experience.
Good networking fundamentals.
Strong knowledge of DNS, mail routing protocols, AD replication, CIFS, LDAP, and NIS required. Maintaining PBX and Voice Mail systems, Cisco Call Manager
Experience working on Cisco Routers and Switches
Knowledge of TCP\IP
Self-motivator with ability to work independently
Ability to multitask and triage in a fast-paced environment
Bachelors Degree of relevance or equivalent work experience
