This position is responsible for i) the organization and execution of the purchasing needs for the clinical manufacturing operation and ii) building and maintaining a manufacturing schedule to support the successful transfer of processes from development and to commercial production, execution of process development and scale-up activities, and production of clinical supplies. Purchasing responsibilities include procuring equipment, components, raw materials, and other items necessary to support the RTP manufacturing operation and facilities which currently include sterile, MDI, DPI, powder-filling, and nasal filling operations. Scheduling responsibilities will integrate workstreams that include customer timelines, material receipt/testing/release, equipment/processing-stream readiness, and product release into a master operational schedule and support the production workforce plan. The successful candidate will have experience and/or direct working knowledge of manufacturing/formulation and packaging operations. Experience in procurement and capital planning will be valued. Qualified candidates will exhibit strong planning and organizing skills which would be used to develop and manage weekly/daily/monthly/quarterly workplans and build a robust manufacturing schedule. In addition, this role acts as an enabler to Operations to monitor and assist in facilitation of support processes to enable production. The candidate is expected to be an experienced professional who can build strong relationships and trust with all key departments on site which include Operations, Facilities/Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Business Development, and Project Management.

        IV. Job Requirements Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree is required Degree in a technical field or business administration degrees is preferred. At least five years of relevant experience in production operations or previous scheduling roles is required Understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing is required. Strong communication and team skills are required. Must be computer literate with MS Office (including MS Project for scheduling), spreadsheets and ERP systems (JDE preferred). Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookup tables, Macros are a plus. Intermediate Microsoft Word skills are required. Organize daily work plans, effectively operate in a maxtrixed organization. Experience in the contract pharmaceutical industry preferred. Vendor negotiations skills / experience is preferred. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Continuous Improvement is a plus. Flexibility to work outside normal working hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. is required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong customer focus. Strong results orientation and leadership qualities. Ability to influence others. Relevant industry knowledge of drug product manufacturing, maintenance and other supporting operations.
