Aligns, defines and positions LTC to successfully execute all aspects of projects throughout the Pacific Rim marketplace under existing contracts. This position primarily handles operational duties but also works together with the Business Development Director to secure new opportunities and capture work in the designated area. This position focuses on profitable execution of projects within the designated area, attaining Blue/Outstanding CCASS ratings, and providing senior leader engagement with the client organization.
Essential Job Functions:
Lead and manage the profitable execution of all aspects of the Pacific Rim business (Japan and Guam) to the full satisfaction of the clients and the company.
Lead and manage the business strategy and planning process for the designated department/area, seeking input and engagement with applicable personnel. Work in conjunction with the Marketing Director to capture task orders both under existing contracts and outside opportunities.
Review monthly and quarterly financial results for operation and projects with respect to meeting project objectives, meeting profitability goals, forecasting project performance, and identification of negative project or program issues which require corrective action and implementation.
Ensure the responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities of all direct and indirect subordinates are defined and understood.
Actively support and drive corporate initiatives, ensuring all activities and operations are carried out in compliance with internal policies and practices, laws and regulations.
Professionally represent the company in relationships with clients, associates, competitors, suppliers, government agencies, community organizations, professional societies and other similar groups.
Ensure the operations staff has the necessary training and skills to perform their applicable work assignments.
Visit projects on a quarterly basis and perform an audit function corresponding to the SOPs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
A Master’s degree in Construction Management/Engineering/Science and 1 or more years as an LTC Senior Project Manager or Operations Manager or 7 or more years outside project management or operations related experience in the region; or
A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management/Engineering/Environmental and 2 or more years as an LTC Senior Project Manager or Operations Manager or 9 or more years outside project management or operations related experience; or
An Associate’s degree in Construction Management/Engineering/Environmental and 2 or more years as an LTC Senior Project Manager or Operations Manager or 11 or more years outside project management or operations related experience; or
A high school diploma and 4 or more years as an LTC Senior Project Manager or Operations Manager or 13 or more years outside project management or operations related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to effectively develop a cohesive team working together to achieve project goals. Previous supervisory experience required.
Must be business savvy with proven experience, judgment and business performance.
Ability to professionally represent the company, verbally, in writing, and in person, to clients, associates and all others in order to expand relationships and grow the business.
Thorough knowledge of construction or other related technology, scheduling, procedures, project contracts, plan and specification reading, financial planning and tracking and equipment are required.
Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize associate performance.
Ability to speak /write fluently in Japanese preferable.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Primavera or Procor
Levels of Supervision:
Works under the direction of the Vice President.
Performs all assignments with minimal supervision; works independently.
Works in conjunction with the Director of Marketing (Business Development) for the designated area.
Directly supervises Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Operations Managers. Indirectly supervises all support staff.
Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials.
Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach.
Ability to lift up to forty (40) pounds and walk a project site.
Must have valid driver’s license; be insurable on the company insurance and able to travel as required.
