Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner
Mission Children’s Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing team. Pediatric cancer care at Mission Children’s Hospital consists of intensive inpatient treatment in a specialty unit and outpatient care delivered at Zeis Children’s Cancer Center . Our team confidently provides treatment protocols based on national standards set by the Children’s Oncology Group .
Role Summary: Provides pediatric oncology health care services under a supervising physician in compliance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing or North Carolina Medical Board.
Required Education: Completion of an accredited nurse practitioner or physician assistant program with appropriate certification exams.
Required License: Have and maintain current Nurse Practitioner license with the North Carolina Board of Nursing or Physician Assistant license with the North Carolina Medical Board
Preferred Experience: Two years experience as a Pediatric Oncology NP using electronic medical records
Our pediatric cancer services are delivered in a peaceful setting designed just for children and their families. Staff at Mission Children’s Hospital and Zeis Children’s Cancer Center develops a treatment plan to meet the individual needs of each patient that may include one or more of the following:
Bone marrow / stem cell transplant: We work in collaboration with bone marrow/stem cell transplant centers

The pediatric cancer care team members are adept at establishing a connection with children, skilled in medical and technical techniques and dedicated to a family-centered environment. Our comprehensive treatment comes from coordinated care delivered by a variety of specialists:
Board certified pediatric oncologists and hematologists providing 24 hour coverage
Nurse practitioners providing and coordinating patient and family-centered care
Licensed social workers
Child Life specialists
Arts for Life
Laboratory physicians and technicians
