The MSW Program Director leads the MSW program’s curriculum and faculty development efforts and is responsible for supervising the MSW field coordinator and program support staff. The Program Director engages in scholarship and serves the department, college, the university, and the professional community, while mentoring program faculty and facilitating faculty scholarship. The Director is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with diverse agencies in the Northwest Corridor of Georgia, monitoring and allocating program resources in an efficient manner, and recruiting and mentoring MSW students. The Director coordinates program and curriculum activities with the undergraduate Human Services Program Coordinator. The director has a twelve-month, tenure-track position, maintains a 1/1 teaching load and reports to the Department Chair.

Ideal Candidates will show evidence of: a) a wide range of clinical social work practice experience; b) an extensive research agenda, grant funding, and a personal record of scholarship; c) prior experience as Director of an MSW program; d) expertise in implementation of CSWE EPAS standards and/or the CSWE accreditation process; e) experience teaching and working with culturally and ethnically diverse populations; f) experience in developing international education and internship programming; and g) advanced clinical license (L.C.S.W. or equivalent).

The minimum qualifications for the position include: a Ph.D in Social Work, an MSW from a CSWE -accredited program (or foreign equivalency approved by CSWE ), and a minimum of 3-years post- MSW direct social work practice experience. The minimum qualifications also include a comprehensive record of professional accomplishments in scholarship, teaching and service that are commensurate with rank. In addition, the candidate should have academic administrative experience within a CSWE -accredited program, such as, leading culturally competent curriculum development efforts, chairing faculty committees/ teams, developing field education, monitoring student admissions, designing/refining student-oriented program policies, and managing a program budget.
