Pay Rate: $13.00 - $15.00/hr DOE
Schedule: 8:00am – 5:00pm

Job Summary:
Research and obtain legible recorded plats and flood determinations for all surveys being completed by the Field Operations Department

Identify specific items listed as exceptions that are survey related. Collect the documents necessary to define the easements and/or exceptions for residential and commercial surveys. Ensure that all documents needed are obtained at the lowest price to the company or no cost at all

Determine adjoining properties, providing tax maps and ownership, obtain all deeds to adjoining properties for metes and bounds parcels

When property is in a flood zone, locate the closest benchmarks and benchmark information for vertical control. This results in less field time on each site

Communicate with City, County and Municipalities for the acquisition of utility plans for site specific requirements

Edit information in the database to ensure all property information is current and accurate

Providing RLS quotes for large parcels, metes and bounds descriptions

Communicating with crew leader and field crew members to ensure all proper documents are obtained in a timely manner when field crews are utilized to obtain records from local municipalities or counties

Utilize research skills to accommodate other departments to locate property, obtain parcel size, determine ownership and any other pertinent property information needed

Order zoning information on commercial properties

Locate abstract companies in out of area counties to coordinate research and order specific documents needed, while maintaining a low cost to the company

Experience:
Thorough knowledge of what documents are required to provide a survey

Knowledge of how and where to obtain documents at minimal or no cost to the company

Effectively communicate with other members of the team including PLS, Contractors, Drafters and field crew members to ensure all information is provided

Knowledge of how to us GIS data, GIS interactive maps, and GIS parcel shape files to determine size and shape of property

Knowledge of reading, interpreting and rough plotting of metes and bounds descriptions

Experience operating general business machines, copier

Detailed oriented verbal and written communication skills

Computer literate

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent

Requirements

Qualified candidates must be able to:
Provide verifiable work history (names, addresses, phone numbers, accurate dates of employment)

Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen

Successfully pass a county criminal background investigation

Provide detailed information for highest degree obtained (high school diploma, GED or college/university)
