The Information Services Division (ISD) is seeking a full-time Systems Support Specialist for our Oklahoma City location, providing IT services to the Oklahoma Department of Commerce. This customer service oriented IT services position is located at the Department of Commerce and is part of a small cadre of OMES-ISD IT staff (3-4) onsite supporting the Department of Commerce IT needs and technology services. Under general direction the successful candidate in this position will be tasked with managing critical agency email, services and technology network. This position manages network hardware and software procurement, installation, maintenance, programming and documents network solutions and structure as necessary. This position will provide the agency tools to enhance innovation, effective user productivity and will maximize available resources.
Design, implement, and monitor daily administration and integrity of a State agency enterprise level computer network in accordance with the Office of State Finance policy and guidelines.
Support for storage networks, enterprise communication networks and Agency business applications and technologies administration and production suites. Including but not limited to:
o Exchange Server (Microsoft Exchange), and Mobile Device Management, Antispam Services Systems Administration of a Microsoft Windows Server Environment, Active Directory, Group Policy, DECP, DNS
o Systems Administration of workstations using Systems Management software (SCCM/WSUS)
Perform hardware and software upgrades to physical and virtualized network servers including operating systems and applications.
Performs, implements and maintains proactive security measures and procedures.
Produces technical diagrams, design and network structure for analysis and support of network systems, operational procedures, network topology and annual hardware/software inventory.
Responsible for proactive system support and resolving network issues.
Responsible for maintaining vendor and partner agency relationships.
Involved with network software licensing and purchasing.
Maintains vendor support and maintenance agreements.
Advisor to IT support for problem resolution and end user support documentation and training
Responsible for network backup integrity and recovery coordination along with disaster preparedness planning and implementation.
Provides long range systems planning and future Agency direction and goals analysis to provide added value to the agency through the use of technology.
Maintains and increases knowledge and skills through attendance at meetings, conferences, seminars, representing the Agency and division.
Performs related work as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position requires supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Technology Management, Information Sciences or related area. At least 2 years of professional experience in the areas of: operations, support and design of an enterprise computer network, and unified network communications systems.
An equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one (1) additional year of experience for each year of the required education, or completion of technical school or vendor training in the area of Computer Operations/Network Technology, or professional certification such as MCSE.
KNOWLDEGE AND SKILLS
The candidate must have strong customer service skills and understand the priority to provide VIP attention, as well as business unit and end user support.
The candidate must have experience in providing quality support in a wide range of technology devices in a fast moving business environment.
The Network Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation and integrity of the Agency computer and communications network, and packaging and dissemination of software for agency use.
The ability to perform work that requires a high degree of initiative, collaboration, dedication, confidentiality, communication, and organizational skills.
Capability to diagnose and apply solutions to varied technologies utilized by the user community onsite, remotely, and well as globally, is a must.
Strong written and oral communication and influencing skills are essential.
The individual must be effective in establishing and maintaining cohesive working relationships with the Agency user community, as well as co-workers in the IT group.
Experience with leading a team is preferred.
