What to Expect:
The primary point of contact for Cognitive Behavioral Program clients, Case Managers aim to affect positive change by modeling pro-social attitudes, providing a structured environment, and partnering clients with the resources, services and treatment they need to be successful.
Case Managers are responsible for managing a caseload which includes monitoring client compliance, documenting client progress and activity and reporting program violations. They orient new clients to program requirements and use assessment tools to determine client risk and needs to develop a comprehensive behavior change plan. This plan might include a number of components such as cognitive behavioral treatment, substance abuse therapy, anger management, employment readiness, electronic monitoring, and more.
Case Managers interface with a number of program and criminal justice stakeholders including courts, probation, parole, elected officials and community resources. This may include preparing documentation for court review, reporting client progress to supervising agencies or connecting clients with social service agencies and community resources.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Successful Case Managers will be able to thrive in an ever-changing environment and treat clients with dignity and respect while modeling pro-social attitudes and behaviors. The primary skills and qualifications needed for this position include:
Basic knowledge of case management, referral services and interventions in both group and individual modalities.
General knowledge of criminal justice system.
Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively interface with program stakeholders at all levels (employees, courts, customers, elected officials and community resources).
Effective presentation, public speaking and facilitation skills.
Solid organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Demonstrated problem solving ability.
Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and the Internet.
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.
Background & Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services discipline or equivalent experience. Two years experience providing services to adult or juvenile treatment populations.
