Responsibilities /Responsabilités:
Coordination of multi-lingual DVD, BD, Online Streaming and Broadcast projects in conjunction with Production Managers, Client Services, English Department, Ops, Digital Media and Ops Coordinator peers to ensure deadlines are met
Liaise with internal units and individuals – subtitling sites, DVD, English language manager, Production Managers - to ensure meeting of deadlines, troubleshooting of problem projects and achievement of highest translation and service quality; highly professional and collaborative team-working liaison with CSRs assigned to same projects
Contribute to and drive Subtitling communication within the wider Technicolor group of companies
Be the main point of contact for all freelance linguists on issues concerning translation, feedback, on-site assistance and queries; specific focus on relationship building and work sharing with colleagues worldwide; implement and assess all procedural change initiatives in line with evolving TCS Subtitling operations
Ensure internal communication and coordination of projects is of the highest quality and is achieved through efficient use of centralized databases, meetings, telephone, email and other tools; FileMaker database usage must be consistent and accurate
Ensure the seamless integration of key operational activities in a subtitling environment, including but not limited to scheduling, the translation process, quality control, tiff creation and delivery, internal and external client liaison
Provide full and professional support to all colleagues, freelance linguists, Technicolor units worldwide without discrimination, agenda or preference, and with complete impartiality
Co-responsibility for the management and ongoing expansion of the translator database by providing timely feedback on translation quality; arranging adequate testing and analysis with input from approved TCS translators; provision of relevant training and guidance; assistance with the establishment of key QC procedures covering all languages
Contribute to the establishment of subtitling and translation conventions and standards, and the dissemination of key operations information throughout the Technicolor group of companies
Other duties may be assigned as required in the course of the business unit’s growing needs and requirements
Qualifications / Qualifications:
Degree in Linguistics preferred (near–native familiarity with at least one language other than English); all additional education and experience welcomed; professional translation certification preferred where sufficient experience is not offered
Previous experience of working with multilingual product in a collaborative team environment; must be an accomplished and committed team player; highly organized; advanced prioritization skills
Extensive experience in all aspects of the DVD subtitling process (DVD C&A knowledge preferred but not essential) as well as
