The University of Central Oklahoma seeks qualified candidates to
apply for the position of Full-Time Tenure-Track Assistant
Professor in the Department of Psychology to begin August
2011.

POSITION SUMMARY: The department of psychology offers
graduate training at the specialist level [MA in Psychology] in
school and clinical/counseling psychology.

Both programs share a core of classes that meet state and national
standards with specialized courses pertinent to the
specialty.

The ideal School Psychology candidate would hold a doctorate in
School Psychology or a related field and possess the NCSP
[Nationally Certified School Psychologist] or be NCSP-eligible with
several years experience serving as a school psychologist in a
school setting.

An ideal Clinical/Counseling Psychology candidate would hold a
doctorate in that field, with training in evidence-based practices,
and be licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist in Oklahoma.
Preference will be given to applicants with both a background in
school and clinical/counseling psychology.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include
teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, supervision of
candidates, and maintaining program standards and
accreditation.

Other responsibilities include serving on committees at all levels,
advising students, scholarly/creative activities, student research
projects, and conducting a formal line of research.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate in School Psychology or
Clinical/Counseling Psychology or related area;
certification/license in area (or eligible) and teaching
experience.

PREFERRED/REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: On-line faculty application

The College of Education and Professional Studies currently has 95
full-time and 100 part-time faculty organized in eight departments.
The college offers 26 undergraduate programs and 28 graduate degree
options. All teacher education programs are NCATE accredited. Other
programs are recognized at the state and national levels with
accreditations by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM),
the American Dietetic Association (ADA), the American
Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), the National
Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the
National Council on Family Relations (NCFR), and the Oklahoma
Commission for Teacher Preparation (OCTP). UCO's College of
Education and Professional Studies has an enrollment of nearly
4,000 students, about thirty-percent of whom are graduate students.
