Graduate Level Internal Audit Internship Program – Atlanta, Georgia

SunTrust Audit Services (SAS) provides professional internal auditing services to SunTrust.

We assist management in identifying risks and opportunities within control processes.

Our work is conducted in conformance with the Institute of Internal Auditors International Standards.

SAS reports directly to the Audit Committee of the SunTrust Board of Directors.

Intern work is targeted at 40 hours weekly but may be adjusted depending on student availability and need for specific audit projects assigned.

Interns will receive competitive wages.

Internships are located in Atlanta, Georgia.

SAS seeks interns in the following audit areas:

Wholesale / Wealth & Investment Management


Information Technology


Corporate Risk Management

The intern will be assigned to a Managing Director’s audit team.

The intern will work as a core team member guided by a mentor.

The program provides extensive on-the-job training and practical application of analytical skills.

Interns will participate in individual project meetings as well as broader audit group discussions.

Valuable opportunity exists to develop significant professional relationships.

The overall goal of the program is for the intern to develop a solid appreciation of the financial services industry, the SunTrust organization and the important role of internal audit in a complex company.

Interns achieving solid performance during the program will be considered for open full-time positions in SAS when available.



Presently engaged in a master’s program with a concentration in accountancy, finance, information technology, information systems audit and control or similar discipline – outstanding undergrads will also be considered


Work experience relevant to one of the four areas business/functional areas or within internal audit is a plus


Overall GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale is required

Desire to contribute in a team environment; excellent written and oral communication skills
