The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking Computer Scientists and Software Engineer s focusing on the following areas:

Software Development: Development, test and evaluation of modeling and simulation programs. Develop documentation to present data comparisons in meaningful and innovative ways. Support development of advanced interface concepts in support of requirements and technical specifications for future system interfaces. Engineering level documentation including technical reports, concept papers, and proposals.

Embedded Software Engineering: Designs, develops and tests real-time embedded and information system software in accordance with the software development process. Applications include spacecraft flight software, simulation software, and software related to National Security Space systems, novel RF communications and signals exploitation devices and systems for the intelligence community.

Computer Science Research and Development: Research related to knowledge management, cloud computing, big data analysis, social network analysis, machine Learning, artificial Intelligence

Cyber Security: Develop and utilize a detailed understanding of computer network and security concepts to engineer novel approaches to solving computer security challenges in an operational environment.

Reverse Engineering: Dissect and reverse engineer existing code and binaries, to understand device operations and communication interfaces with a focus on security.

Mobile Application Development: Develop leading edge techniques and solutions that leverage cellular platforms to create novel capabilities in an environment where creativity and ingenuity is encouraged and appreciated. Work at every level of the device operating environment to develop new software programs

Job Requirements BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA.

Note: Security clearances are necessary for most positions. Holding U.S. citizenship is part of the requirements for obtaining a clearance.
