Under the guidance of the Director of Food and Nutrition-with assistance from the Production Manager and within established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, performs a variety of tasks to support the Food Service Department.
Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the primary functions of the job, with or without responsible accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities and possess the necessary physical requirements with or without the aid of mechanical devices, to safely perform the essential functions of the job.
Working in the dish room
Restocking of the cafeteria’s dessert case.
Attends to the general appearance of the cafeteria including filling the plastic ware and stainless steel silverware.
Help in delivering, pick-up and cleaning of patient food carts.
Attends to final preparation of salad bar – removes plastic wrap, places utensils appropriately, checks plate supply.
Assists the Chef with defrosting of foods as instructed.
Cleans working area as required by department’s safety and sanitation guidelines including the following: Cafeteria side counters, front of the dish machine and the clean dish rack side of the dish machine, dish rack storage shelf, cleaning and organizing the storage rack(s) in the dish room
