Performs entry-level clerical duties involved in the day-to-day operation of public library archives division. Performs related work as required.

Typical Duties:
Performs clerical duties involved in processing original records for public use. Maintains and updates vertical files. Scans documents and photographs in digital format. Performs basic conservation and restoration procedures. Enters retrieval data into computer databases. Operates microfilm equipment. Assists the public in person and by phone. Refers patrons to appropriate personnel for assistance. Performs clerical duties involved with shelving and maintaining library archival materials as needed. Adheres to library Customer Service Guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma .

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of archives policies and procedures. Knowledge of local history. Bachelor’s degree in history or political science or a related field. Knowledge and experience in scanning and digitizing documents and photographs. Knowledge of archival materials and collections. Skill in dealing with the public, both in person and by telephone. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
