The Creative Art Therapist is responsible for providing clinical services on the Inpatient Psychiatric Units for both individual and group therapy programs. This position is responsible for inpatient admissions assessments, individual treatment plans, and maintaining accurate and thorough medical records documentation. The therapist will perform clinical assessments, develop treatment plans and maintain clinical documentation. In addition, he/she will implement therapeutic programming on assigned units as required by Joint Commission (JCAHO) and New York State Office of Mental Health (NYS OMH) behavioral health standards.
Assignment Level II
1. A valid License issued by the New York State Education Department to practice as a
Creative Arts Therapist; and
2. Two years of full-time, paid, professional experience in creative arts therapy.
Assignment Level III
In addition to meeting the requirements for Assignment Levels II, Assignment Level III
1. One additional year of experience
