The Technical Support Database Administrator will primarily be responsible for managing and resolving technical issues involving Oracle and MySQL relational databases for customers with on-premise implementations of the ServiceNow SaaS product. The successful candidate will also be able to assist with a broad range of technical issues related to web applications. Additional duties include:
Assisting customers with database performance analysis, capacity sizing and optimization.
Assisting customers with implementing solutions for replication, sharding and performance optimization.
Assisting customers with code tuning/optimizations.
Answering customer questions regarding scalability of database architecture to support customer growth.
Mentor junior support team members in various database and web application technologies.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot difficult technical issues
Excellent client/customer management skills
Advanced experience with relational databases Oracle and MySQL
Strong experience with database performance analysis, capacity sizing and optimization.
Working knowledge of the components in a web applications stack.
Working knowledge of Java programming.
Linux and/or UNIX expertise.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work with high-value customer administrators and developers.
Excellent time management skills.
Experience troubleshooting and optimizing web application performance
Experience with web services via APIs
Experience with Single Sign-on implementations
Working knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP
A fundamental understanding of IT service management and the ITIL business process
