Purchase complex materials, components, systems, tooling and services within the guidelines of Daimler Trucks N.A. and Daimler Truck Group Procurement (TGP). Develop and guide supplier relationships, including long term partner suppliers.
Maintain supplier pricing files, purchasing contracts, and internal communication systems (PPS, GLOBUS, cbFC, etc).
Interface with suppliers and Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality to ensure timely and accurate communication of specifications.
Provide support to all manufacturing plants and internal departments for supplier-related issues.
Support negotiations and renew supplier contracts to purchase critical materials, parts, components and tooling.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field; OR an Associate's degree in Business Administration or related field with 1 year of purchasing or related experience; OR 4 years of related Daimler experience is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
Knowledge of business and economic issues, cost structures and contracts is preferred.
Knowledge of commodities and suppliers in local and global markets is preferred.
Knowledge of relevant materials and their features and production techniques is preferred.
Knowledge of analytical tools used for supplier evaluation and selection is preferred.
Final candidate must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
