Hydrogeologist - United States (Multiple Locations)

Assists in preparation of work plans for soil, surface water, groundwater, and sediment sampling programs.
Determines methods and solutions for complex geologic problems, selecting the most efficient and economical means to meet established goals and objectives. Applies advanced geologic and hydrogeologic techniques and analyses and is proficient in the use of current theories and practices. Most assignments involve the use of computer software applications (including spreadsheets, CAD, aquifer test analysis, etc.), as well as computer modeling. May direct and supervise lower-level personnel. Willingness to travel and/or relocate to field sites is expected.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
May manage medium-sized site investigation projects or small multi-disciplinary projects or studies.
Ensures that field work is completed in a timely manner.
Prepares proposals and cost estimates for projects, and may schedule project staff as a task or project leader.
Assigns work and reviews work produced to ensure accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness. Makes staffing assignments and reassignments as project and company requirements change.
Provides geological, hydrogeological, and hydrochemistry consultations for interdisciplinary studies and analyses.
Assist in the field with geophysical logging, streamflow measurement, well installation, water-level measurement and other field operations
Prepares specification and work plans for field investigations, pumping tests, sampling, and ground water/soil remediation.
Solicits and evaluates bids from subcontractors for services such as clearing, drilling, surveying and mapping, and sample analysis.
Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.
Prepares and delivers technical papers.
May serve as technical consultant in area of geology for management or for the client as appropriate.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
4-year degree in Geology, Geosciences, or a related field with emphasis in hydrogeology and 10 years of related work experience.
Must have chlorinated solvent remediation, RCRA, and CERCLA experience
Familiar with RCRA Sites. Groundwater and soil investigation/remediation experience required.
Relevant experience in hydrogeology or groundwater analysis
Demonstrated expertise in hydrogeologic analysis, including subsurface correlation, aquifer analysis, construction of hydraulic head maps, and interpretation of hydraulic gradients
Proficiency in various computer software applications typically used in geological analyses is required. Also requires excellent written and oral communication skills, a thorough understanding of related environmental rules and regulations, and the ability to perform in a lead capacity on a project.
