This position is responsible for the development, maintenance and conformance of quality plans and quality specifications for new and existing products. Performs multiple assignments of moderate to complex scope with minimal guidance from supervisor and other technical experts. Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard quality engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to manage product and process health. Independently develops clear and specific objectives for given assignments that may require the investigation of several alternative quality solutions. Effectively participates in a team setting to achieve results. Effectively leads moderate to large projects.
o Lead PQP deployment in manufacturing. Conduct process and measurement capability studies, develop and implement quality plans
o Lead quality initiatives within Manufacturing Strategies.
o Deliver right-sized solutions that consider quality, cost, and service goals.
o Develop and implement quality assurance plans and specifications.
o Use Disciplined Problem Solving (DPS) techniques to demonstrate sound root-cause thinking and problem solving skills.
o Conduct internal process audits to assess compliance and effectiveness of quality systems and procedures.
o Support implementation of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods.
o Manage process and document changes through the SIS process.
o Provide feedback and approval of quality documents including quality plans, inspection checklists, standard work procedures, and manufacturing drawings.
o Assist with disposition of nonconforming material.
o Drive process improvements to reduce the risk of external escapes. Engage production to proactively identify quality risks and drive improvements.
Education: Four year degree in Technical Field. BS in Engineering or Quality related field preferred. Maintain on-going education in related areas.
Experience: General knowledge of quality planning and control. Manufacturing experience and advanced (DOE, Six Sigma) problem-solving skills preferred.
Skills/Knowledge: Ability to solve complex problems and complete multiple projects. Uses advanced problem-solving methods to make decisions. Applies proven technology independently. Strong oral and written communication, including presentation and facilitation skills. Strong computer skills, including data evaluation and statistical process analysis. Excellent time management skills.
