Manage all areas of the Business Unit to meet the quantitative and qualitative goals of the division.
Build an effective management team to establish and meet goals in manufacturing for productivity improvements, cost reductions, and faster throughput.
Identify and develop key statistics and reports necessary to effectively manage manufacturing, (i.e. Critical Success Factors).
Labor relations, including participation in grievances.
Promote and maintain safe work environment.
Communicate goals and objectives to work force including supervisors.
Direct activities to support customer requirements including on time delivery, quality and costing.
Cost product with Customer Service to meet market requirements while maintaining profits.
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Four year degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering or Industrial Management and ten years of related manufacturing experience.
Interpersonal oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of labor relations, manufacturing methods, and production planning.
Knowledge of SPC, JDE, and PC’s.
Administrative and organizational skills.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing initiatives focused on Toyota Production Systems methodology.
RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
Plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing operations to maximize quality, efficiency, and profitability.
Be familiar with critical environmental aspects for assigned areas of responsibility and respond accordingly, based on the Aspects and Impacts matrix, procedures and/or training.
