Diamond Healthcare is opening a 26-bed Psychiatric Inpatient Geriatric Program in Albuquerque, NM. There will also be a Structured Outpatient Program (SOP) associated with the Behavioral Health Program. Renovations of a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) facility are currently taking place.
SUMMARY PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION: The Registered Nurse/Nurse Manager is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members.
REPORTS TO : Clinical Nurse Manager, Behavioral Health Services.
SUPERVISES: MHT, CNA and LPN
Must be a graduate from a State Accredited School of Nursing
BSN preferred with current State registration.
Certified in Psychiatric Nursing preferred.
3 years of related experience required.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT : Will be located in and around the Inpatient Behavioral Health Services Department and the Hospital facilities. Some hazard potential per possibility of physically acting out behavior of patients and health related communicable diseases, some assistance may be required in assisting patients in physical hygiene.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS : Knowledge of education responsibilities to staff, community and students; a well-integrated personality; an understanding and appreciation of good physical and mental health. Knowledge of the nursing process, pharmacology and medical procedures which may be encountered in the program, communication skills, interest in continued professional growth, knowledge of new trends in mental health nursing or recovery process from chemical dependency; and can adapt to progressive change.
