Patten Industries, a Caterpillar Dealer located in Elmhurst IL, is currently has an opening for a HR Generalist.
The HR Generalist provides assistance with analysis and reporting data and assists in recruitment, retention and compliance. Maintains employee information and records, enroll employees in benefits, administer leaves of absence, complete all new hire/termination/transfer employee tasks and assist the HR Manager in daily administrative tasks related (but not limited to) to recruitment, performance management, benefits, compensation, terminations, compliance etc.
Responsibilities: *Including but not limited to:
Maintain compliance records and reports and audit processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Maintain and update employee information into ADP/HRB HRIS system.
Streamlines HRIS processes eliminating non-value added steps.
In-house expert user on ADP/HRB system.
Design and maintain special HRIS reports and ad hoc reports on turnover, terminations, new hires and performance reviews and maintains the ADP/HRB system as needed (i.e. new job codes, cost centers, department, vacations, policies, etc.).
Provide administrative support when needed to the HR Manager and assists HR Manager with employee event planning as needed.
Interview job applicants; reviewing applications/resumes; evaluating applicant skills and making recommendations regarding applicants qualifications and conducts new hire orientation.
Conduct timely investigations of employee relations matters and work with management to resolve and create required documentation of same (Personnel Action Forms, documented warnings etc.).
Provide advice, assistance and follow-up on company policies, procedures, and documentation to managers and employees.
Ensure employee records are managed according to records retention requirements and employment laws standards and tracks FMLA and STD.
Assist with Annual Benefit Enrollment and health and wellness initiatives. Administer and explain all benefits to employees such as healthcare, dental, disability, PTO, holidays etc.
Working understanding of HRIS System input and report writing
B.A. or B.S. in HR or related field preferred.
Min 1-2 years HR experience required.
Excellent computer skills including ADP-HRB and Excel required.
Must be extremely dedicated and hard working with superior organization and communication skills.
Adaptive and responsive to change, motivated, positive, trustworthy and dependable.
Superior interpersonal relationship skills; position can be challenging and demanding, qualified individual will be able to perform under pressure, meet deadlines and consistently maintain professionalism. Strong Analytical skills required.

Excellent time management and ability to prioritize is a must.
