Basic Function:
Responsible for the product & services management of the risk function for a on a corporate basis. Formulate and implement policies and procedures, driving data informed decisions, and collaborate with business unit management to maximize profitability within overall bank risk parameters.

May perform any or all of the following responsibilities based on risk responsibilities:

Develop and implement the framework for managing risk in the company through sound analytical processes, effective models, and guidance via appropriate policy and procedural recommendations. Manage coporate policy compliance and quality issues consistent with the bank’s risk appetite, ensuring business operates within stated risk-return characteristics. Develop pricing and cash flow models (IRR, ROE, NPV) that balance competitive market position with profitability. Collaborate with the Product function as it relates to pricing levels and leveraging cost of funds. Develop performance metrics, reporting and analysis to support data-driven decision-making and forecasting. Provide direction and leadership within cross-functional teams, process improvement teams etc. Collaborate with business partners on compliance and regulatory issues, Operational Risk Management, Corporate Risk Policies, and Product Profitability Improvement Initiatives. Optimize the bank’s equity position in stress testing via Risk Modeling to monitor the organization’s overall risk exposure under a variety of economic scenarios. Perform risk reviews to validate risk standards and risk profiles. Develop loss, and recovery forecasts for management. Collaboration on product profitability improvement initiatives and the development of new strategies to mitigate risk. Responsible for merger-related tasks as appropriate including due diligence, analysis of risk management practices, tools, policies, operational process, loss forecasting/reporting, new report generation, troubleshooting, and cross-functional risk/opportunity summaries. Responsible for performing tasks in a manner that are compliant with applicable laws and regulations and / or that serve to help the company be in compliance with laws and regulations that apply to the business line the position supports. Exercise the usual managerial authority over staff with respect to staffing, hiring, salary recommendations, performance management, employee development, and termination

Basic Qualifications:
Masters degree, or in lieu of degree six years in a risk/business quantitative position.

Minimum twelve years’ risk management, Finance or related experience, with a minimum of eight years in a managerial risk capacity.

Superior knowledge of profitability and lending business dynamics.

Experience formulating and directing cross-functional teams.

Quantitative skills including strong analytical, financial, statistical, and model development skills.

Knowledge of Product, Marketing, and Credit processes as they relate to Risk Management.

Excellent knowledge of automation techniques, scoring technologies and vendors and service bureaus servicing the risk management marketplace.

Sophisticated knowledge of PC, Core Bank process systems, Database, and Network Capabilities.

Excellent verbal and written communication, cross-functional collaboration and management skills.

Ability to communicate concepts/theories and develop alternative recommendations.

Ability to make effective presentations to all levels of the organization.

Maintain solid working relationships with senior management and business partners including product, credit, operations, asset management, credit bureaus, and vendors.
