The Track Engineering Department is seeking a draftsperson with three years of pertinent Civil Drafting experience. Graduate of an accredited drafting or technical school with certification in Bentley Microstation or AutoCAD is required.
A Civil/Track Draftsperson test must be passed.
Duties include the preparation of track and civil drawings for the construction of new facilities or modifications to existing facilities in accordance with instructions from Manager of Engineering or assigned staff engineer including but not limited to grade crossings, crossovers, bridge timbers, rail bending, paving, drainage and grading.
For assigned projects, Draftsperson will prepare design detailing of track and civil assemblies under general supervision, and will assist with the preparation of design layout of entire civil/track systems under close supervision. Draftsperson will be expected to perform basic calculations in preparation for these drawings.
Other duties include performing field inspections/surveys to verify conditions and measurements shown on prepared plans, and assisting engineering personnel in track and civil field surveys.
Draftsperson will reduce surveyor field notes as required, and prepare base plans from them.
Draftsperson shall perform additional assignments as required.
