Processes and maintains accounting records for areas assigned. Prepares and manages correspondence in reports and documents.

Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare monthly and annual financial reports.

Ensures financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.

Ensures all financial reporting deadlines are met.

Prepares and keys financial management reports.

Develops and keys monthly financials.

Ensures accurate and appropriate recordings and analysis of revenues and expenses.

Compiles financial information and develops efficient use of resources and procedures.

Reconciles various sales and accounts receivable and payable general ledger and subsidiary accounts, under supervision of A.P. and A.R.

Answers phone calls, takes messages or transfers calls to appropriate office personnel.

Arranges conferences and meetings for office personnel.

Implements and maintains office systems.

Maintains schedules and calendars.

Organize internal and external events.

Handles incoming mail and send mail to designated personnel or customers.

Sets up and maintains filing systems.

Sets up work procedures.

Communicates verbally and in writing to answer inquiries and provide information.

Operates all office equipment such as printers, copiers, etc.

Primary contact for bulk ticket and demand response sales.

Maintains accounting and other business records for retention purposes.

Serves as Records Management Liaison Officer (RMLO) for the agency, coordinating the disposition of public records with the State of Florida. Assists PSTA departments in the preparation of records for storage, and maintains the records management database.

Provides training and support to all PSTA departments, to ensure compliance with all required rules and regulations. Advises the Director of Finance of new and emerging methods and technologies of Records Management that may be appropriate for use by the Authority.

Serves as back up to other Accounting Specialists.

Performs additional duties as assigned to assist the Director of Finance and Manager of Budget and Accounting.

Education : High school diploma (or G.E.D.). Prefer additional college-level course work in accounting, and/or Associates Degree with course work in accounting or business.

Experience : Prefer experience in basic accounting or bookkeeping and administrative related work.

License : Must possess and maintain a Florida Drivers License.

Knowledge of : Basic accounting practices, modern office procedures and practices, business principles and business administration.

Skilled in : Operation of personal computer, keyboarding and 10 key by touch; use of general office equipment. Proficient in use of relevant Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Proficient in typing and word processing.

Abilities : Maintain confidentiality; process a volume of numerical detail work quickly and accurately; prepare routine financial reports and records; establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and employees; operate money handling equipment. Good command of English language, experience in information and communication management.
