DESCRIPTION: The Maryland Transit Administration seeks candidates to provide maintenance assistance and support in the MTA's Bus Maintenance division.
DUTIES: Conducts inspections, performs preventative maintenance and repairs a variety of bus mechanical and electro-mechanical systems and their components.
Education & Experience: Possession of high school diploma or equivalency (GED) certificate; plus, one (1) year of experience repairing, maintaining, or inspecting heavy vehicle/equipment; tractor-trailers or passenger buses and their components and systems. Applicant should be familiar with fleet garage type of environment and MUST HAVE OWN TOOLS.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES: This position requires a good driving record and a valid driver's license to legally operate a motor vehicle in the State of Maryland.
Must be able to obtain a Class "A" Restricted CDL permit with a 'P' Endorsement prior to hire and a CDL license within the 90-day probationary period.
Driving record must be within MTA standards (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years; no more than 3 moving violations in the last 5 years; and no more than 4 current points. A driving record indicating a conviction for driving while impaired or driving while under the influence (DUI) of drugs or alcohol in the past five (5) years or more than one (1) conviction for driving while impaired or driving while under the influence (DUI) of drugs or alcohol within the total driving history will disqualify you from the recruitment process).
