Job description: The Senior IT Analyst is responsible for the design, troubleshooting, and management of the Wide-Area- Network (WAN) and Local Area Networks (LAN). In addition, responsibilities include monitoring and troubleshooting other IT infrastructure services such as Virtual Private Networks (VPN), firewall configuration, file and print server support, desktop support, and mobile device management.
Works with the IT Architecture and Operations Teams along with third party service providers such as Level 3, Verizon, HP, and Stefanini to design, standardize, maintain, upgrade, and improve network reliability, response times, redundancy, and uptime.
Thorough technical analysis of network monitoring information is a key day-to-day activity. The expected results include insuring network traffic is identifiable by application, rogue applications are eliminated, and traffic volumes align with expected requirements by application.
Establishing and implementing bandwidth and Quality of Service (QoS) requirements is a fundamental responsibility.
Developing and maintaining good working relationships to effectively resolve issues in a multi-vendor environment is essential.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering or related field. Candidates with other degrees should have relevant experience.
Ten -Fifteen years of experience in voice and data network design and implementation
and managing WAN and LAN operations and problem resolution
Router, switch, and firewall configuration expert
Expert level knowledge of implementing, managing, and troubleshooting routing protocols including but not limited to BGP; OSPF; etc.
Ability to effectively work in a team environment and yet work independently handling multiple tasks
Active Directory (AD) and DNS knowledge
Project management experience for projects with budgets of at least $50,000.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications
Server and workstation installation and support skills
Cisco Unified Call Manager configuration and support
Videoconference equipment installation and support
Carrier contract negotiating experience
International network support, specifically in Brazil and Germany
Business application support experience
