Job Description:
The Talent Recruiter (TR) serves as a key representative of KIPP Austin’s mission, brand and culture. The primary responsibility of the TR will be to identify individuals who demonstrate strong promise as staff members with KIPP Austin and work in partnership with the talent development team and school leaders, in cultivating them to apply to KIPP Austin Public Schools. The TR will spend at least 50% of his or her time building relationships with key stakeholders who can connect us to new staff leads and will conduct significant outreach within Austin, Texas as well as nationally to fulfill our staffing goals.

Key Areas of responsibility:
Lead generation: cultivate high-quality staff prospects effectively

  • Efficiently and compellingly communicate with individual high-quality prospects
  • Schedule and host 20+ meetings per week with high-quality prospects in order to compel them to apply
  • Strategically match cultivation resources (individual school leaders and other KIPP Austin hiring managers) to prospects, based on prospects’ competitiveness
  • Track and reflect on performance data in order to improve effectiveness
Develop and fulfill an outreach and civic engagement strategy

  • Identify and build relationships with local and national connector organizations
  • Create an outreach calendar that proactively ensures we have the first presence among top quality prospects
  • Identify key strategic opportunities to host connector organizations and individuals with KIPP Austin through on-site visits, professional development opportunities and external presentations
  • Attend key national recruitment events, including Teach For America regional and national events, Bilingual Educators Organizations at Southwestern colleges and universities, and additional key events that will fulfill our mission to build a sustainable organization
  • Identify, manage and facilitate internal events that generate interest and build brand
Data tracking

  • Track metrics related to recruitment and lead generation to evaluate various strategies and improve sourcing efficiency
Propose and manage new recruiting initiatives as appropriate

Qualifications:
  • Flexibility, tenacity, high quality work, resourcefulness, teamwork, and a sense of humor 
  • Highly Fluent/Native-Level Fluency in Spanish (required)
  • “Fire in the belly” for closing the deal on ensuring the nation’s top talent choose to serve KIPP Austin’s students
  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • Experience in the education reform sector, particularly teaching experience (preferred)
  • Prior civic engagement or high stakes recruitment experience (preferred)
  • Ability to travel 20-30%
  • Empathy and authentic belief in approaching community relationships from an assets-based perspective
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
  • Focus on results: able to meet quantitative and qualitative goals in lead sourcing

Salary is based on years of experience, degree of education, and level expertise. A competitive benefits package is also offered.
