ContractSoftware Build Engineer / 164009

Contract Location: Hillsboro, OR

Contract Duration: up to 18 months

Remote Position: NO

Project Description: Software Configuration management and installation

Daily Responsibilities: The primary focus will be on providing SCM Administration to development teams, with emphasis on version control and automation systems in a multi-sited cross platform development environment:

Assist in Software Build and Release Management; includes build system automation, nightly builds, build replication and release process management.

Work with the development teams to identify and root cause constraints and implement process improvements related to these areas of responsibility.

Provide automated scripted solutions for both Linux and Windows environments where appropriate.

Support also includes monitoring of help requests to resolve developer issues regarding supported tools and processes.

Necessary Skills :
Minimum 5 years of Linux/Windows Administration, and working knowledge of Linux/Windows installation; setup and administration, as well as some development, scripting and component building.

Strong Python and Shell Scripting skills

Experience working with code patches and building with Linux Make files

Understanding of Linux Packaging (RPM) and the build relationships between Linux software packages and their target environments

Strong communication skills

Additional skills desired, but not required:
Basic understanding of Software SCM practices

Experience with tools for Source Control, automated build, code review, testing

GIT experience is highly desired
