This position provides application development and support for a variety of financial applications (internally developed and vendor based) that are used by Chevron's Financial Accounting, Comptrollers and Treasury Groups.

RESPONSBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Manages multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
Translates business requirements into technical specifications and identifies opportunities for process improvements. Interprets program logic to inform / consult with users on system processes.
Works closely with our finance organization to troubleshoot, debug, and enhance application code or configuration across a wide breadth of technology (VB.Net, C#, Visual Studio 2008 - 2012, UNIX Scripts, PL/SQL, ORACLE, TSQL, Stored Procedures, SSRS, SSIS, Crystal Reports, etc.).
Acts as a Subject Matter Expert and understands business processes to can act as liaison between customers and other technical support groups.
Information protection and compliance - ensures system and processes adhere to standards and will lead or participate in periodic reviews
Maintains System Documentation
Plans for and participates in Disaster Recovery testing.
Monitors month end close processing to ensure scheduled processing runs as planned to ensure timely completion.
Bachelor's in Computer Science or Engineering related degree.
3 - 5 years' hands-on experienced with web application development using Visual Studio, VB.Net, C#, MTFS among others.
Recent experience with writing complex SQL statements and supporting large PL/SQL packages containing dozens of procedures.
Experienced with a variety of batch job tools (CRON, UC4, Scripting on multiple platforms(Windows, UNIX) and reporting tools (Business Objects, SSRS). Will be responsible to periodically invoke unscheduled batch jobs / reports as requested.
Ability to also integrate technical components from different environments into a unified solution (Windows, UNIX, Oracle, SQL, etc.).
Must have a good grasp of current application technologies and their use in meeting business requirements.
Troubleshooting and work with service providers on resolution of technical issues (i.e. program amends, server outages, response time problems, etc.).
Candidate must understand IT system development life cycle and apply IT project management principles, methodologies and tools.
Requires clear written and oral communication abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a global virtual team environment with team members in Manila, Buenos Aires, India, and U.S.
Has the ability to work from a high to low level of detail.
Able to quickly grasp complex financial and accounting rules and tie that understanding to the application solution in order to effectively troubleshoot application issues, data anomalies, or issues with other supporting technologies (database, server, etc.).
Able to adjust work schedule to provide critical month end close support to the Financial Accounting group during critical work days / hours.
