We have an excellent opportunity for a

Microsoft .NET Developer

to join our IT Consulting Group in Houston. The developer at this level is responsible for writing, modifying, and debugging software for Faithful+Gould and its clients. Developers are expected to be able to design and develop programming solutions with assistance from Senior developers. A developer must show exemplary understanding of the .NET programming environment, must be able to follow and improve upon defined processes for software delivery, and must produce solutions that exceed defined standards for quality.

Performs software development in .NET and MS SQL Server platforms in support of all internal and external applications.

  • Requirement and functional specification review
  • Software design and test planning
  • Software development (programming)
  • Software deployment planning and execution
  • Provides second tier support for software service requests.
Job Details

Qualified Candidates will possess the following skills and experience:

·

B.S. or B.A

in Computer Science or other IT major,

plus four to six years

relevant programming experience in a Microsoft.NET environment.

·

At least two

years

of experience

developing software solutions for engineering consultancies

, preferably Civil Engineering and/or Construction Management

in a test-driven development environment.

·

Must demonstrate programming skills and experience with current object-oriented programming techniques, and work experience with at least two of the following software packages/ programming languages: Visual Basic, Avenue, C++, HTML, XML, MGE, MDL, Java, VBA, Java Script and/or similar, with ability and willingness to learn others as needed.

·

Database experience required in at least one of the following: Microsoft SQL, Oracle or Access.

·

Should have good interpersonal, technical writing and communications skills.

·

Solid experience with configurable application development, i.e. building a product that serves the needs of many customers through configuration not customization.

  • F
ormal Microsoft Certification and/or Training preferred.

·

Ability and willingness to quickly understand and document business requirements, and to create well-structured software designs to meet them.
