Candidates must meet Selective requirements for Executive Mail Center Manager (212) to be considered for this position. To provide management support, training, and oversight related to Capitol Complex mail operations. Duties and responsibilities include: · As needed, will assist in providing day-to-day guidance to staff in the execution of all mail operation responsibilities to ensure business continuity and work flow. · Participates in the employee performance evaluation process. Provide direct and ongoing counseling to staff whose performance requires improvement and provide subsequent employee performance feedback. · Participate in gathering incident data and conducting reviews. · Responsible for knowledge of current United States Postal Service regulations governing preparation of all classes of mail for presentation to the Postal Service. · Ensure that daily mail meets United States Postal Service standards and all requirements for maximum automation discounts. As such, the position will counsel, train, and verify the work of mail section staff. · Responsible for keeping abreast of innovations in mail processing supplies/equipment and service delivery. Working with suppliers and the United States Postal Service; individual will evaluate, recommend, and implement processes, equipment, and software to improve mail services delivery. · Functions as liaison to key interagency mail handling staff. Provide training and guidance to departmental customers to maximize postage cost avoidance by ensuring that mail is prepared to meet United States Postal Service automation requirements and regulations. Notify and resolve mail irregularities. Investigate and resolve customer complaints. · Ensure that all legal requirements are maintained for documenting receipt of accountable mail from the United States Postal Service. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university and experience equal to one year of full-time administrative or technical support work (e.g., determining budget, personnel and equipment needs; compiling/evaluating statistical, historical, economic, business, financial or technical program data; interpreting or securing compliance with laws, rules and regulations; reviewing operating records/reports and evaluating their effectiveness).
