The Intern will commit to at least working 20 hours a week for a term of two months and will be accountable for the following responsibilities:
o Conduct research on behalf of the Office of the President on external parties in advance of meetings to include biographical information, organizational information and timely information on meeting guests.
o File and retrieve corporate documents, records, and reports
o Attend meetings on occasion to record minutes/notes as directed by the Office of the President staff
o Assist by preparing the agenda for bi-weekly Senior Leadership Team Staff Meetings with direction from the Office of the President staff
o Other duties as assigned
Communications & Public Relations:
o Assist with the preparation of the public engagement meetings/events calendar on behalf of the Office of the President. Report/add upcoming speaking engagements for the President & CEO to the public engagements calendar
o Develop and maintain a media relations database to include all coverage on CPS Energy and the Senior Leadership Team. This will require categorization and real time monitoring and reporting
o Review monthly social media reports and collaborate with Program/Project Coordinator to create a social media strategy for the President & CEO. This would include tracking trends and researching what type of content increases engagement
o Meet with Office of the President staff and event committee to plan scope and format of events, and review event progress
o Assist the Office of the President staff by coordinating meeting logistics where applicable by reserving conference rooms/meeting locations, hotel rooms, contracting catering services and coordinating with facilities services and IT/multimedia
o Assist in developing promotional material for enterprise-wide events
To qualify for this internship position, the applicant must currently be enrolled as a full-time high school or college student seeking to obtain experience in relevant field and be in good academic standing and have maintained at least a 3.3 grade point average. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Package, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, electronic mail and scheduling. Business degree, concentration in communications or marketing preferred.
