The System Administrator’s role is to support the operations of the technology operational architectures. This includes: monitoring, configuring, installing, administering, planning, developing, maintaining and supporting the availability of the technology operations including systems, network and telecommunications.
This role will also help in monitoring and administering the ticketing system and handle Level 2 support issues from the service desk.
Assist with configuring new implementations and developing processes and procedures for the ongoing management of the technology operational environment.
Monitor and administer the ticketing system for entries assigned to the EA team; review resource issues; prioritize and respond to service desk tickets.
Provides support to internal and external end users on operational software and hardware as requested by system engineers and approved by Manager of Enterprise Infrastructure.
Participate in meetings to explain technical solutions and the feasibility of company operations to meet department needs for software and hardware. Works with system engineers and the Manager of Enterprise Infrastructure with finding cost-effective solutions to new and existing software and hardware needs.
Monitors company operating systems with associated software or hardware and provides performance statistics and reports as directed by the Manager of Enterprise Infrastructure. Recommends and implements appropriate actions to determine and resolve operational architecture issues, may include systems, network and telecommunications.
Maintains current knowledge of associated company management software and architectures. Provides monitoring and reporting of technology operations as directed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience with several of the following technologies: Windows and/or Linux operating systems administration. VMWare, Citrix, Switches, Gateways, Desktop Configuration, Security,
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or qualified technology certifications in network, systems, or other related certifications.
Requires three years of experience in a systems and/or networking environment including virtualization, Citrix, Microsoft, telecommunications, call center environments, voice services and gateways, installing and configuring desktops, servers and an understanding of the security, integrity and the safety of company operational efficiencies plus other related products.
Requires effective verbal and written communication skills to consult with users and vendors and recommend hardware and software solutions.
