Under immediate supervision performs work of routine and moderate difficulty in recreation programs; and performs related work as required.
The average number of weekly hours is sixteen hours.
Examples Of Duties:
Teach various reading, math and science curriculum to students in grades K – 5 at varying elementary buildings during the after-school hours.
Good attendance and punctuality is a must.
Commit to certified staff training dates.
Comfortable teaching a group of 15 – 20 students at a time in an after-school program setting, groups may be smaller at times.
Provide students with hands on learning experiences.
Practice positive behavior interventions in an after-school setting.
Willing to share and work effectively as a team member.
Other duties as assigned according to the varying needs of staff and students.
BA in Education, Recreation, or related field.
Must pass police background check.
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work with a diverse youth and adult population.
Ability to communicate with youth in a positive, non-aggressive manner.
