RECRUITMENT BULLETIN #12-124a 2013 SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM
JUNE 21, 2013 SUMMER TEACHERS: GRADES 9 - 12
POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pamela C. Brown, is interested in receiving applications
from qualified candidates for Grades 9 – 12 summer school teaching positions:

GRADES 9 – 12 REGENTS EXAM REVIEW AND CREDIT RECOVERY:

ELA, MATH, SCIENCE, AND SOCIAL STUDIES

(Locations subject to change based upon site availability.)

Staff dates: July 15 – August 16, 2013
Library staff dates: July 15 – August 14, 2013
Student Instruction dates: July 16 – August 15, 2013

Regents exams to be held: August 13 and 14, 2013
Rating and Grade Input: August 15 and 16, 2013

Staff hours: 8:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
Student hours: 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

APPLICATION:
Candidates must complete an application form available on the District website, at www.buffaloschools.org.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must be New York State or Buffalo certified in the tenure area for which they are applying to
teach. Priority in the selection of teachers will be given to qualified permanent/tenured/probationary/
temporary Buffalo Public School teachers in order of summer school seniority.

DUTIES:
Paid Teacher Preparation Day is July 15, 2013 (3 hour session) for grades 9 - 12. Successful candidates
are encouraged to attend.

APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent
following assessment of summer school seniority, training, credentials, and evaluation of service.
Interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.

SALARY: Teacher hourly rate based on BTF contract.
