This opportunity is for a Senior Project Engineer to work directly for a client in Southern Louisiana.
In this position, you will work on the design and manufacture of winches for off-shore use. You will conduct analytical studies on engineering proposals to develop design for products. You will analyze research data and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of product proposal; confer with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develops design; and prepare or direct preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics. You will direct and coordinate manufacturing or building of prototype product or system; plan and develop experimental test programs; and analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
You will also confer with research and other engineering personnel and prepares design modifications as required; evaluate engineering test results for possible application to development of systems or other uses; use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks; and provide technical support to customers. Minimum of 5 years experience in industry application.
Familiarity with rubber and metal technology within a manufacturing environment. Strong ability to perform engineering calculations. Ability to work with other areas of the organization, including manufacturing. Ability to work with regulatory agencies and within the guidelines and rules for the industry.
Familiarity with 3D modeling software, Inventor preferred. Familiarity with structural evaluation software, ANSYS preferred.
