Basic Functions The A/C and Heat "A" must have a thorough knowledge of all A/C and heating components of Authority operated vehicles and their proper function, and be able to diagnose problems and effect the repair to completion in a timely, safe manner. The primary duties will
include, but not be limited to:
Responsibilities and Specific Duties Independently diagnoses and repairs all A/C and heat defects on Authority vehicles under the supervision of a foreman.
Works independently on the removal and installation and all associated service, repairs and adjustments, including pipe fabrication, fitting and sweating, and all associated welding and electrical work of components or systems.
Performs inspections and uses any test equipment and specialized tools, gauges, and diagnostic equipment associated with A/C and heat repair work.
Required to complete an assigned job. Road testng of vehicles as required.
Perform the duties of a Bus Repair "A", T-truck/Wrecker Operator, as assigned.
Maintains a clean and safe work area.
Completes all required reports and records in a timely and accurate fashion.
Performs other job related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements High school diploma equivalent. Three (3) years of mechanical repair experience on heating, electrical and refrigeration systems or five (5) years general heavy-duty mechanical experience, with at least one (1) year of heating, electrical or A/C work. good communication (written/verbal) skills. Able to complete/fill-out written reports, forms and records.
Valid Commerical Texas Drivers License and the ability to drive any Authority operated vehicle. Full set of hand tools. Able to maintain or obtain certifications or licensing as required. Hand tools to include a set of A/C gauges. Must have EPA 608 and 609 Certifications.
