Salary Range: $2505 - $3758/Monthly
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; non-exempt classification.
Essential Functions: Under the general direction of the Records and Enrollment Services Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for providing quality academic services to students, staff, faculty, and alumni in the processing of all information reflected on the students’ Cal State L.A. academic record. Duties include but are not limited to: implement and explain academic and administrative policies and procedures mandated by the Registrar’s Office, University, the Chancellor’s Office, and Title 5 of the State of California Administrative Code; process and/or log transcript requests, grade changes, repeated course petitions, credit by examination, course and/drop requests, change of majors, leave of absence, non-traditional grading, advance placement, verification of degree, grade point average and enrollment, and probation/disqualification status using GET Student Administration; clearly communicate registration, transcript and graduation procedures to students; and perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience: Equivalent to three years of progressively responsible office experience, including the ability to provide work direction or act as lead to support staff and to perform some limited duties of an administrative nature. Two years of training at a vocational business school OR two years of full-time college education involving a variety of secretarial, business or commercial subjects may substitute for two years of the required experience. Non-related college education may substitute for up to two years of the required experience on the basis of one year of college education for six months of experience. Incumbent must be able to learn quickly and be able to multi-task; work well under pressure, troubleshoot student issues and must demonstrate attitudes and behavior in keeping with good customer service, professionalism and teamwork; and excellent written and oral communication/interpersonal skills. Basic math skills are required to assess GPA and transcript accuracy. Incumbent must have the ability to follow written and verbal direction and finish assignments with little supervision; operate standard office equipment and have an intermediate to advanced understanding of Microsoft Office applications; and demonstrate an interest or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment.
Special Desired Qualifications: Possess excellent customer services skills and the ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships. Work experience at an institution of higher education in a customer service related capacity is desirable.
