Job Summary

TDS is seeking a motivated, self-driven sales person to join the TDS team as a Direct Sales Representative . The position is responsible for growing TDS revenues by acquiring new customers and selling new products to our existing customers in residential markets primarily through door to door activity. The direct sales representative meets with potential customers to educate them on the features and benefits of TDS's voice, data, and video products and determines the appropriate solutions to fit their needs through a consultative sales approach.

The position offers a competitive base pay of $29,000 with uncapped commission . Total salary at goal is about $50,000/year and reps exceeding sales goals are making $75,000/year or more! TDS Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K & more) start immediately!

The position also offers a flexible schedule . You are expected to work a minimum of 40 hours, but your hours can be flexible between the times of 9:00am -9:00pm Monday ' Saturday. Keep in mind, the best time to reach residential customer is typically early evenings and Saturdays, so it is expected to put hours in during those times.

Job Responsibilities:
Contacting prospective residential customer through cold/warm calling, door to door activity, networking, community events, and referrals to educate them on TDS voice, data, and television services.

Achieve weekly & monthly sales goals

Prepare documentation of sales orders received from customers and manage the customer account from the sale through installation. Perform Telephone follow-ups on each sale after installation to ensure customer satisfaction.

Gain and Maintain technical knowledge and interpersonal skills necessary to achieve success. Attend and participate in sales meetings and training as established by management.


Required Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED or HSED.

1+ years of sales experience

Must have a valid driver's license, insurance and have access to reliable transportation

Other Qualifications

Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Computer literate with familiarity of in-home electronics, computers, and high-speed Internet preferred.

Must be enthusiastic, persuasive, persistent, and have the ability to handle rejection in the selling process well.

Must be a good listener and have superior people skills.

Must be committed to providing exceptional customer service in a calm, professional manner.

Ability to prioritize and organize work effectively and be a self-starter.

Excellent oral and written communication skills for interaction with customers to educate them on cable, voice, and data services.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and customer information.

Ability to deal with public in a professional manner.

Must be able to pass local community background checks and permitting processes.
