JOB PURPOSE:
To provide complex support within an assigned area by providing accurate, consistent, and timely accounting information and support to facility management. May provide day-to-day work direction or supervision to assigned employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Compile and analyze information gathered from assigned plant locations and prepare for general ledger entry.

Prepare and audit monthly, quarterly, and year end financial statements and operating reports

Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts; research discrepancies and make appropriate adjusting entries

Prepare monthly and weekly profit/loss forecasts; review financial statements for accuracy in processing month-end closing

Assist with preparation of plant or site annual budget

Compare receiving reports and vendor invoices for account reconciliation

Monitor capital projects and track costs; close out projects on a timely basis

Participate on special project teams as needed

May direct the day-to-day work flow and assignments or supervise departmental staff; act as a resource to staff on complex questions or issues

May prepare and submit tax worksheets as required by Corporate Tax Department

May perform Sarbanes Oxley compliance testing as needed

May maintain, monitor, and analyze Corporate accounts

Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations

Perform other duties as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Knowledge of plant manufacturing environment and processes

Good analytical skills and math skills

Good organizational and problem solving skills

Good written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to work on multiple projects and meet regular deadlines

Ability to operate a computer and supporting software packages

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.

EXPERIENCE:
2 to 3 years’ professional accounting experience.

Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office environment

Occasional travel required
