Minimum Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
This position is being recruited for at the Journey Competency Level under the Career Banding Program. The hiring range for this position is $37,000-$40,500 and the salary grade equivalent for this position is 63.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The primary purpose of this position is to analyze and evaluate revenue and expenditure transactions within the Center's accounting system. The selected candidate will also manage and review expenditure and receipt transactions for the Center, for a large variety of programs. This position will be the administrator for many of the department's state appropriated and state receipt accounts, and a limited number of trust accounts. ESSENTIAL SKILLS: This position requires the ability to coordinate tasks and establish priorities. The ability to convey factual information using standard written formats as is the ability to communicate information clearly to others about services, processes, and procedures using prescribed or established guidelines. The selected candidate must be able to identify problems that have established precedents and limited impact. Experience compiling, reporting and organizing financial information and other data is required, as is experience completing financial transactions, processes and practices for assigned areas. Experience in coordinating varied records processing activities requiring the application of well-defined policies and procedures is vital and the ability to prepare and review information for completeness and accuracy is critical. Must have excellent computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, financial systems (preference given to those with experience in University Systems such as FRS and In-depth). The selected candidate must have excellent customer service skills, must be able to work in fast paced environment. Attention to detail is of upmost importance.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prefer candidates with Associates Degree or higher. Prefer University employee with 12-plus years' experience in accounting and/or bookkeeping and 10 or more years in higher education.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements:
The ability to work lengthy periods of time at a computer workstation and the ability to make regular use of telephone and other office equipment is required.
