LOCATION

: Geisinger Health Plan, Hughes WORK SCHEDULE

: Days - Monday-Friday, alternating shifts of 7:30-4:00 PM and 8:30-5:00 PM WORK TYPE

: Full Time DEPARTMENT

: Geisinger Health Plan's Accounts Receivable department

Starting with job offers dated February 1, 2012 and after, Geisinger Health System will no longer hire applicants who use tobacco products, including cigarettes, cigars and chewing or smokeless tobacco. JOB SUMMARY:

This position is not limited to group reconciliations, but may include the data entry for the Group Information Cards, which is the Group enrollment and premium rate entry. Produces quality documents that support and justify Health Plan premium payments from employer groups. Manually or electronically reconciles group accounts that involve a high degree of difficulty; this position will have specific, unique accounts assigned to reconcile. Recognizes dollar amounts that may have been inappropriately allocated. Validates all information and notifies appropriate departments and/or the company of discrepancies. Follows through in regard to all outstanding issues for resolution thereby reducing open Accounts Receivables and resolving eligibility differences.

Reports directly to the Accounts Receivable Team Leaders.

*Demonstrates ability to be consistent and effective with productivity, and possess good organizational and prioritization skills.

*Demonstrates ability to work independently and also in a team setting, demonstrating good training techniques.

*Demonstrates skills in operating a calculator.

*Demonstrates a solid financial knowledge base.

*Demonstrates proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Groupwise, with an aptitude for mainframe applications and associated keyboarding skills.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

*Associate's degree in accounting or business with minimum two years accounting or business experience required.

OR

*Minimum four to five years accounting or business experience may be substituted for the degree.

*Minimum one year on the job training to become skillful with assigned duties required.

*Work is typically performed in an office environment.
