Operates, maintains and calibrates automated and semi-automated synthesis and analytical instruments including HPLC and GC; Conduct organic chemistry (synthetic chemistry) experiemnts; Work with radioactive isotope (training will be provided); Proposes and conducts experiments to implement manufacturing and quality control methods for new radiopharmaceuticals.

Performs technical laboratory research. (EF)
Follows technical instruction in setting up and conducting experiments, including biological assays, quantitative and qualitative analyses. (EF)
Maintains records of all tests performed and data collected. (EF)
Assists in compilation, tabulation, and analysis of data. (EF)
Makes minor modifications and repairs on laboratory equipment. (EF)
Calibrates and operates a variety of laboratory equipment. (EF)
May perform surgery on laboratory animals. (EF)
Effectively utilizes computer systems. (EF)
Adheres to internal controls established for department. (EF)
Demonstrates the components of the ICARE values statement.
Follows all safety rules while on the job. Reports accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazards. Completes all hospital required and job-related in-services and applies the information as needed.

BA/BS with 2-5 years experience
Masters with no experience
Two to five years of directly related research experience required.
Experience in synthetic chemistry, medicinal chemistry preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
Standard laboratory environment; some assignments may be in hospital units with typical hospital environmental hazards and concerns.
