DUTIES OF POSITION:
To provide instruction to Adult Basic Education students and students preparing for the GED ® exam, evaluate students’ progress, and help students achieve their educational goals. Adult Basic Education adjunct faculty teach ICCB approved courses that develop students’ reading, writing, math and critical thinking skills.
Prepare and teach assigned courses following approved ICCB course curriculum.
Submit a current Student Course Syllabus following the college guidelines.
Assist students to develop Individual Educational and Employment Plan (IEEP).
Monitor student progress toward attaining learning outcomes and professional goals stated on the IEEP.
Provide timely feedback to students, refer students to support services and accommodate students with special needs.
Maintain student attendance, performance and enrollment statistics.
Effectively retain students within the program.
Pre/Post test all students using appropriate ICCB approved test/s.
Comply with all ICCB, departmental and institutional requirements related to grant, department, and institutional records and reports.
Complete Department orientation requirements.
Attend required staff meetings and earn a minimum of 8 credits of professional development hours each year.

Exercised by Employee:
B.A. in Education, English, Reading, Math or related discipline.
Masters degree in Education, English, Reading or related discipline.
Three years teaching experience in Adult Education discipline or approved alternate discipline.
Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated teaching skills.
Curriculum development experience preferred.
Evidence of continuing professional development.
Evidence of skills in use of Instructional Technology.
Experience applying adult learning methodology.
Respect for diverse adult learners, cross cultural sensitivity, and enthusiasm.
Ability to present a positive and professional image when representing the college.
Willingness to teach at on/off campus and community locations; seven days a week; morning or evenings; 12 months a year.
Bilingual, intercultural skills preferred.
